Concealed Carry Tips:
Things I've Learned from My CCW Journey
Part 1
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_XAKRDkKW4
Decide to carry and persevere, be flexible,
experiment to find a place on your body that
allows concealed carry.
Part 2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nstDmbD9P9Y
Don't touch your gun in public, purchase
quality gear from the beginning, keep gun tight
against your body.
Part 3
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5Y2f5Eip9s
Bend from the knees, not the waist; conceal
with loose fitting garments; wear dark solid colors
or patterned garments.
Part 4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoGPYPQQNoQ
     Wear your gun when shopping for clothes;
check belt loop location; practice before leaving
home.
Part 5
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSF6V6-T8kA
Be aware of your surroundings; be aware of the
gun laws in the state you are traveling through,
list of smart phone apps; wear accessories that
draw attention away from the place on your body
that you are carrying.
Part 6
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frOJ3aHDfqA
Tilt pistol forward, so grip doesn't stick out
the back; have at least two carry guns that operate
the same way; clean your gun weekly.

[I clean my body everyday.  Why wouldn't I clean my
gun as often?  Doesn't everyone wear their gun when
they shower?  John Wayne did.  Are you old enough
to remember that movie? - Jon Low]

1) No one is coming to save you.
2) You had better bring your “A-game.”
"You need to have enough skill with your handgun to
outpace the other guy’s skill with his rifle."
That’s practical advice.  How many of you are working
hard enough on your pistol skills to make it happen?
3) Hiding and playing dead aren’t very good options.
4) You may have to attack the killer even if you are
unarmed.
5) Being aware of all possible exits and choosing a
"tactical" spot to hang out in a bar are both very
important considerations.
6) Head Shots.  (body armor, explosive vests)

The AR-15 does a lot of things well. Except this.

It's not just the M-16's, when training with Uzi's
we had to compensate for the height-over-bore at close
range.  Otherwise, you're going to miss the head shot.

No, revolvers are not simpler to use.
Revolvers are much more difficult to reload.
You can't clear revolver malfunctions in real time.
Yes, revolvers can malfunction.  No, pulling the
trigger does not clear all revolver malfunctions.
Yes, hammerless revolvers are appropriate for
firing from inside a purse or inside a jacket
pocket.

Excerpts:
1.  You have to be the innocent person.  You cannot have
started the fight.
2.  The deadly threat has to be imminent.
3.  The force you use has to be proportional to the threat.
4.  In some states (16 states), you have a duty to retreat.
So, you have to take a safe avenue of escape, if it exists.
34 states, including California, have stand your ground
laws.  In California you may pursue your attacker if
necessary for your safety.
5.  You have to genuinely believe that the bad guy will
cause death or serious bodily harm.  A reasonable person
would have to believe that what you did was reasonable.
Stand your ground laws eliminate the legal need to
retreat.
Conduct after the event is all important.  Call
911 immediately!  Stay at the scene, if it's safe to do
so.  If not, get to a safe place, and then call 911 to
report that you have been attacked and defended yourself.
Running away is an act of the guilty.  Failing to report
the incident is an act of the guilty.
95% of self defense claims at criminal trials are
false.  Real self defense never gets to trial.
Concealed carry permittees have a lower crime rate
than police officers.

"Man With Concealed Carry Permit Kills
Racist Attacker At Waffle House"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXhfJ4LNgIs
It is common for people to lie to police when
questioned.  You just write it all down, but you
don't dare believe a word of it.  Good thing there
was video of this incident.

"U.S. Supreme court rejects challenge
to state assault weapon bans"
http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/us-supreme-court-rejects-challenge-to-state-assault-weapon-bans/ar-AAhkQ4r?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=iehp
This headline is misleading.  It takes the
votes of 5 justices of the U.S. Supreme Court
to bring a case before the court for a hearing.
So, the U.S. Supreme Court did not reject the
challenge, they let stand the lower court's ruling.
It's hard to get 5 votes for a case, because there
are only 8 justices on the court, since Justice
Scalia's death.  So, to overturn a liberal lower
court ruling, one of the liberal justices would
have to vote to hear the case.  That ain't going
to happen.
This situation is different from  the recent
4 to 4 vote by the Supreme Court that resulted in
upholding the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling
(that Obama's executive order not to deport illegal
aliens is unconstitutional).
In that situation, the case was heard by the
Supreme Court

"Slippery Slope!" by John Farnam
http://defense-training.com/2016/slippery-slope/
This is history in the making.  This is why we were
required to read "Nineteen Eighty-Four" by George Orwell
and "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley in high school.
Those who don't understand (ignorant) or can't see
(stupid) the big picture, will always go along to get
along with the tyrants.
It's up to you to study and research so that you
understand the big picture.  It is your responsibility
to ensure your children understand the big picture.
So, they are never deceived by the tyrants.
If your children grow up to only vote for those
who would protect our liberty, you have succeeded in
one of your basic parental duties.

Dept. of Justice overrules FBI on gun sales debate,
DOJ says no-fly list can be used to stop gun sales
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/jun/16/doj-overrules-fbi-gun-sales-debate/
There is no publically stated criteria for being
placed on the no-fly list.  There is no way to appeal
being falsely put on the no-fly list.  Unless you are
Senator Ted Kennedy, once on the no-fly list you're
stuck for the rest of your life.  Can you say, "Abuse
of power under color of law?"

NRA and ACLU oppose Department of Justice ruling
on use of no-fly list to ban gun sales
http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/lynch-justice-no-fly-guns/2016/06/17/id/734404/
It is always extremely difficult to find the nameless
faceless bureaucrat responsible for placing your name on
the no-fly list.  But, if you are able to, the charge
should be "Abuse of power under color of law and actions
outside the scope of his job description."  If you can
get the judge to agree with the "outside the scope of
his job description" part of the charge, you can prevent
his employer (usually the federal government) from paying
for his defense, including government attorneys; and you
can sue him as an individual, much easier than suing the
federal government.
There is nothing quite so satisfying as causing
a federal bureaucrat to shit in his pants.

And now, for the scholars among us . . .
"In January 2013, President Barack Obama issued
23 executive orders directing federal agencies
to improve knowledge of the causes of firearm
violence, what might help prevent it, and how
to minimize its burden on public health. One of
these orders directed the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC) to, along with
other federal agencies, immediately begin
identifying the most pressing problems in
firearm violence research. The CDC and the
CDC Foundation asked the IOM (Institute of
Medicine), in collaboration with the National
Research Council, to convene a committee
tasked with developing a potential research
agenda that focuses on the causes of,
possible interventions to, and strategies to
minimize the burden of firearm-related
violence. The committee’s proposed research
agenda focuses on the characteristics of
firearm violence, risk and protective factors,
interventions and strategies, the impact of
gun safety technology, and the influence of
video games and other media."
