Concealed Carry Tips:
Things I've Learned from My CCW Journey
Part 1
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_XAKRDkKW4
Decide to carry and persevere, be flexible,
experiment to find a place on your body that
allows concealed carry.
Part 2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nstDmbD9P9Y
Don't touch your gun in public, purchase
quality gear from the beginning, keep gun tight
against your body.
Part 3
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5Y2f5Eip9s
Bend from the knees, not the waist; conceal
with loose fitting garments; wear dark solid colors
or patterned garments.
Part 4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoGPYPQQNoQ
     Wear your gun when shopping for clothes;
check belt loop location; practice before leaving
home.
Part 5
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSF6V6-T8kA
Be aware of your surroundings; be aware of the
gun laws in the state you are traveling through,
list of smart phone apps; wear accessories that
draw attention away from the place on your body
that you are carrying.
Part 6
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frOJ3aHDfqA
Tilt pistol forward, so grip doesn't stick out
the back; have at least two carry guns that operate
the same way; clean your gun weekly.

[I clean my body everyday.  Why wouldn't I clean my
gun as often?  Doesn't everyone wear their gun when
they shower?  John Wayne did.  Are you old enough
to remember that movie? - Jon Low]

hard enough on your pistol skills to make it happen?
3) Hiding and playing dead aren’t very good options.
4) You may have to attack the killer even if you are
unarmed.
5) Being aware of all possible exits and choosing a
"tactical" spot to hang out in a bar are both very
important considerations.

Excerpts:
1.  You have to be the innocent person.  You cannot have
started the fight.
2.  The deadly threat has to be imminent.
3.  The force you use has to be proportional to the threat.
4.  In some states (16 states), you have a duty to retreat.
So, you have to take a safe avenue of escape, if it exists.
34 states, including California, have stand your ground
laws.  In California you may pursue your attacker if
necessary for your safety.
5.  You have to genuinely believe that the bad guy will
cause death or serious bodily harm.  A reasonable person
would have to believe that what you did was reasonable.
Stand your ground laws eliminate the legal need to
retreat.
Conduct after the event is all important.  Call
911 immediately!  Stay at the scene, if it's safe to do
so.  If not, get to a safe place, and then call 911 to
report that you have been attacked and defended yourself.
Running away is an act of the guilty.  Failing to report
the incident is an act of the guilty.
95% of self defense claims at criminal trials are
false.  Real self defense never gets to trial.
Concealed carry permittees have a lower crime rate
than police officers.

"Man With Concealed Carry Permit Kills
Racist Attacker At Waffle House"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXhfJ4LNgIs
It is common for people to lie to police when
questioned.  You just write it all down, but you
don't dare believe a word of it.  Good thing there
was video of this incident.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/us-supreme-court-rejects-challenge-to-state-assault-weapon-bans/ar-AAhkQ4r?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=iehp
This headline is misleading.  It takes the
votes of 5 justices of the U.S. Supreme Court
to bring a case before the court for a hearing.
So, the U.S. Supreme Court did not reject the
challenge, they let stand the lower court's ruling.
It's hard to get 5 votes for a case, because there
are only 8 justices on the court, since Justice
Scalia's death.  So, to overturn a liberal lower
court ruling, one of the liberal justices would
have to vote to hear the case.  That ain't going
to happen.
This situation is different from  the recent
4 to 4 vote by the Supreme Court that resulted in
upholding the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling
(that Obama's executive order not to deport illegal
aliens is unconstitutional).
In that situation, the case was heard by the
Supreme Court

"Slippery Slope!" by John Farnam
http://defense-training.com/2016/slippery-slope/
This is history in the making.  This is why we were
required to read "Nineteen Eighty-Four" by George Orwell
and "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley in high school.
Those who don't understand (ignorant) or can't see
(stupid) the big picture, will always go along to get
along with the tyrants.
It's up to you to study and research so that you
understand the big picture.  It is your responsibility
to ensure your children understand the big picture.
So, they are never deceived by the tyrants.
If your children grow up to only vote for those
who would protect our liberty, you have succeeded in
one of your basic parental duties.

DOJ says no-fly list can be used to stop gun sales
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/jun/16/doj-overrules-fbi-gun-sales-debate/
There is no publically stated criteria for being
placed on the no-fly list.  There is no way to appeal
being falsely put on the no-fly list.  Unless you are
Senator Ted Kennedy, once on the no-fly list you're
stuck for the rest of your life.  Can you say, "Abuse
of power under color of law?"

on use of no-fly list to ban gun sales
http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/lynch-justice-no-fly-guns/2016/06/17/id/734404/
It is always extremely difficult to find the nameless
faceless bureaucrat responsible for placing your name on
the no-fly list.  But, if you are able to, the charge
should be "Abuse of power under color of law and actions
outside the scope of his job description."  If you can
get the judge to agree with the "outside the scope of
his job description" part of the charge, you can prevent
his employer (usually the federal government) from paying
for his defense, including government attorneys; and you
can sue him as an individual, much easier than suing the
federal government.
There is nothing quite so satisfying as causing
a federal bureaucrat to shit in his pants.

Research Council, to convene a committee

minimize the burden of firearm-related

Greetings Sheepdogs,
I offer you some text to share with your
friends who may not understand --

Remember how Paul Revere warned us that the
British were coming?  Well, I'm here to tell you
that the Jihadist are here and their purpose in
life is to kill you.  So, arm yourself, and get
professional training in the use of your arms.
If you choose not to arm yourself and get training,
you are choosing to be a victim.
     Train your children.
The NRA has instructors who will teach you.
Check the NRA Instructor's web site at
http://www.nrainstructors.org/search.aspx
Search for self defense classes.  There are many
gun schools in our country.  Take advantage of
them.  They don't exist in other countries.
I am not a prophet.  I am an intelligence
analyst.  My name is Jonathan Low, Staff Sergeant
United States Marine Corps.  My military
occupational specialty is Intelligence Specialist,
MOS 0231.  Unfortunately, I do know
what I'm talking about.
---
Believing that you are safe in a gun free
zone is a grotesque superstition.  All mass
murders occur in gun free zones, because the
terrorists know that no one will shoot back
at them.
Terrorist who attempt mass murder in
gun friendly places such as Garland, TX are
immediately killed, so no mass murder occurs.
http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/05/us/garland-texas-prophet-mohammed-contest-shooting/index.html
---
Here is an announcement (2013) from Sheriff David Clarke
of Milwaukee County:
“I’m Sheriff David Clarke, and I want to talk to
you about something personal:  Your safety.
It’s no longer a spectator sport. I need you in the game,
but are you ready?  With so many officers furloughed,
simply calling 911 and waiting for us to arrive is not
your best option.  You can beg for mercy from a violent
criminal, hide under your bed, or you can fight back.
But, are you prepared?  Consider taking a certified
safety course in handling a firearm, so you can defend
yourself until we get there. You have a duty to protect
yourself and your family.
We’re partners now. Can I count on you?”
---
Keeping and bearing arms is Biblical.
“Then Jesus said to His disciples,
whoever does not have a sword
should sell his coat and buy a sword.”
– Book of Luke 22:36, New Life Version of the Bible
This is a transliteration of an ancient text.
The sword was the standard sidearm of the time.
Jesus is saying that self-defense is more
important than staying warm in the winter.
A modern translation would be,
“Then Jesus said to His disciples,
whoever does not have a pistol
should sell his smart phone and buy a pistol.”
---
"Those who carried materials
did their work with one hand
and held a weapon in the other,
and each of the builders wore
his sword at his side as he worked."
-- Nehemiah 4:17-18

"... each had his weapon,
even when he went for water."
-- Nehemiah 4:23, New International Version Bible

Scripture used by the 14th Marines chaplain
in a sermon urging us to carry our weapons
at all times.

"You gotta fight back. You gotta fight, you can’t freeze.
You need to prep yourself for these violent encounters,
and do it now. Don’t ever think you’re gonna rise to
the occasion . . .
You’re gonna fall back on your training.”
The incident occurred at night.  Officer Reston
was using a .40 caliber Glock model G22.
Jared Reston was shot seven times during the gun
fight, but continued to fight and won.
Keep a wound kit in your car.
Use a 9mm because you won't have to reload and
the less recoil allows for more accurate shots.
Officer Reston fired 14 rounds, he had 7 hits,
2 rounds were fatal.  50% hits.  14% fatal hits.
You've got to take a class from a reputable
instructor to learn how to train.  Then you can do
your training dry.
[I paraphrase below. - Jon Low]
You have to use your sights.  Point shooting is
bullshit.
It wasn't stressful.  Getting shot didn't hurt.
You're confident in your skills.
Does that (screwing your muzzle into his head
and firing) bother you?  No, because I've done it
a thousand times in my head. [Visualization works.
- Jon Low]
Killing the people I've killed has never
bothered me.  Because they made the decision to have
me kill them.  [This guy will never suffer from

The difference between fighters and warriors.
Fighters need to get angry to fight.  Warriors never
get angry.  They're just doing their job.  They are
professionals.  Calm detached professionalism.
There are people out there who need to be killed.

Concealed Carry and Driving . . .
https://civiliangunfighter.wordpress.com/2016/06/08/2898/
Excerpt:
Let the asshole driver pass you or have that coveted
parking spot, and don’t return the middle finger
salute. The one time I ever reached for my gun while
driving, it was because my passenger flipped off a
guy that pulled out in front of us. Stuck in traffic,
and with no apparent escape avenue for my vehicle,
when the large gentleman angrily exited his truck
and started toward my door, I preemptively reached
back to grip my holstered gun. I am convinced that
the obvious motion that telegraphed my action is
what caused him to do an abrupt about face and
return to his vehicle. I don’t share this
experience as a model of what to do, but rather
what NOT to do! It was no big deal in the end,
but I had a strong discussion with my passenger
about the realities of the fact that I carried a
gun daily.
. . .
Just as with any other activity, when carrying,
you are held to higher standard of conduct that
does not tolerate impertinent lapses of judgement.

I teach (and this has changed over the years) a
three part after action procedure:
Quick Check - looking to your right and behind you,
then looking to your left and behind you.  Slowly,
because with an adrenaline dump, you are much stronger
and much faster than you think you are.
Final Check - looking at the guy you just shot to
determine his condition.
Scan - with pistol pointed straight up and suport
side hand pressed against your cheek or pistol pointed
straight down in a retention SUL position (support
side hand on top of the pistol), scan in
vertical strips while rotating through 360 azimuthal
degrees.
I disagree with the author.  I think a 360 degree
scan is essential for security.

Over the years, I have noticed that when people
get cut by ricocheting fragments, it's the copper
jacket fragments that cut them.  So, this seems to
be a good technological advancement.

If it eliminates lead and copper fouling in the
bore as advertised, cleaning the bore should be much
easier.

I disagree with the narrator.  Using a finger or
thumb to block the hammer to decock a pistol is wrong.
There is no correct nor reasonable manual of arms in
which the user blocks the hammer with a digit in order
to decock the pistol.

"I probably sound a bit cranky about eye protection.
There’s a reason for that. A few years ago, when I
first got into firearms, I accidentally splashed a
bit of solvent onto my prescription glasses. The
plastic lens was immediately etched deeply by the
cleaning stuff. I was so thankful that it wasn’t my
eye, but quite irritated that it destroyed my new
pair of glasses. Don’t take the chance of it being
your eyeball that gets etched like that, okay?"
